You rock! I’ve named my nephews ridiculous monikers (b/c Sis insists on giving them big people names liked Robert and Gregory) so they’re bobert and goober. They’re gonna hate me.

I still call my Daughter (now 5-years-old) Boob for the very same reason. Not to mention she nursed till she was nearly 3! Drives my Hubby crazy.

WYD: We’ve tried the “big boys use the POTTY!” trick, but he’s not buying it. “Nahhhh. Big boys don’t use the potty! You’re SILLY MOMMA! Can I have a sticker?”

ToyLady: We’re using a sticker chart and are now actually doing pretty well with the peeing. It’s, uh, the other territory that’s brought us to a bit of a standstill.

If you’re potty training a male-child, may I suggest . . . Cheerios?

My little guy would grab every chance he got to go into the bathroom and “sink the Cheerios” – and 20 years later, he’s still potty trained (plus, as far as I know, he doesn’t use the cereal anymore).

I don’t know about girls, though – I think they’re always a little more complicated.

Welcome back to the blogosphere. Ahh, potty training. I can only say it is great when it’s done. Ours was painless given the Little Man was told that baseball players dont’ wear diapers and after that, we were done.

Be lucky you have a mother that is so interested. My mother and many of other peoples mothers couldn’t give a shit-we are not that fortunate. So what if she is excidet for her grandchild. Gettting out of crazy town???-count your blessings that you get to do that. I have a feeling that you have a very supportive husband too that you don’t appriciate. So why don’t you just stuff it.Good job Grandma for being so involved!!!!!

Wow, I have the exact same conversation with my mother every day! When my daughter was first born my mother and I used to live several hours apart and we would talk via Skype so she could see the baby a few times week. My mom was obsessed with the notion of seeing my daughter discover her hands and a few times even when I was holding my baby my mom would be convinced that she could see her noticing her hands and that I was just missing it. I had to convince her that she really wasn’t doing that when she was 3 weeks old!
