I am a huge fan of the Natural Mat mattress.

To be honest, when my son was born in 2005, it didn’t even occur to me to get him an eco-friendly mattress. No one seemed to be really talking about them at the time.

But, now it’s all the rage… and I’m happy about that considering how much time our little ones spend in their crib. A natural, “green” mattress makes so much sense. (Who wants their child breathing in toxins while they sleep?)

Better late than never – I switched my son to a Natural Mat when he was about 2 years old, and now my baby girl is using it. These mattresses may be a bit more expensive than conventional ones, but I feel like it’s worth every penny spent for my babies’ growing body and immune system.

They’re 100% organic (like that!), naturally fire retardant (god forbid), and are 100% renewable (done and done). And did I mention that they’re cozy? They offer a few choices made from coir (a good breathable choice), latex (ideal for those with allergies) or mohair (their most luxurious offering), depending on your budget and your needs.

Now, if I could just get a queen size for me…
